With all that I have been struggling with emotionally in the first few days of the new year, I just really needed to hear God speak to me. Lo and behold, while on TikTok this morning, I have a video come across of a woman giving a talk at an event. In this video, she talked about how she is unusually tall (6 foot 1 inch) and that her voice is unusually low for a woman. Those things have not always made her life easier but they have served a purpose for her, especially in what she is doing now as a public speaker. One thing she said that really struck me was that her creator knitted her together, with intention, in her mother’s womb. And this creator was Creator, with a capital C. Because of this, she knew that she could say, “I am who I am supposed to be.” Even if she didn’t understand the reasons why.
That really resonated with me. That even though I am now fully blind, been legally blind most of my life in fact. I have to accept that it is NOT a mistake. I am, who I am supposed to be. Now I have to figure out how to make that statement feel true in my heart, each and everyday. We all have a purpose, I just have to figure out what mine is now.
